This was my first time co-chairing an MPI monthly meeting but have planned many corp. events over the years and I have to say I think you folks have the process down! Everything ran like clockwork and looked beautiful. Both of you were wonderful to work with. Your staff was attentive, upbeat and right there when need. It was great and helpful to have the concierge on hand to direct and answer any questions our guests had. The food was not only outstanding but beautifully presented.

Now that things are starting to settle down for us, we wanted to take the time to tell you how much we appreciated working with you to plan and carry out the memorial service/reception for Sara's husband that was held on Sunday, January 22. Your sincerity, compassion, professionalism, and willingness to make our vision for the event a reality within our budget made the worst moment of our lives much more bearable. After our first meeting with you, we knew we were in good hands and wouldn't have to worry about anything, which was such a relief, and this proved to be true the day of the event. Everything was perfect, down to the smallest details - you attended to every wish or concern we expressed when we had met. We also appreciated the flexibility and understanding you displayed when the service went later than we had anticipated.

We considered dozens of other venues before deciding on Alden Castle.

We held our wedding reception at the Alden Castle ballroom and it was just perfect. Flawless in fact.

The staff, the professionalism, the amazing food...... we could not have been more pleased and received only rave reviews from our guests.

Cindy, our contact, was in communication with us every step of the way. She was extremely personable and organized and noted every detail before the event - double checking whenever there was a question (which I loved because it confirmed we were on the same page and I felt I didn't have to worry about a thing). The venue made sure they noted every allergy or personal preference possible. They contacted all of our vendors for us and coordinated the scheduling. We dropped off our decorations, which they itemized on paper and then they put everything together for us. A day of coordinator kept her eye on the scene during the event and the timing, the details, serving of the meals....everything was perfect. And I can be hard to please. :)

We held the cocktail hour upstairs and Cindy met us outside, took my bag to the dinner table, and snuck us in downstairs to have a drink and some appetizers privately before we got bombarded buy our guests. It was lovely to see the ballroom all decorated and set up before the guests entered.

Did I mention the food? One of the reasons we chose Alden Castle was the menu. The steak melted in my mouth, and their dessert options were so good, we decided not to serve wedding cake but their tasty option instead. We had about 11 people with different food sensitivities and Alden Castle barely batted an eye and accommodated each one. We received countless compliments from our guests regarding the exceptional food - better than your average wedding meal for sure.

When the event was done, the staff packed everything up for us (extremely quickly), checked the list to make sure they had everything, and sent us off with smiles.

I honestly could not have been more impressed with the execution of the event, from beginning to end. Solid five stars.

On Friday, October 7th we were married at Wychmere. I am writing to let you know what an unbelievable experience we had from beginning to end with your Wychmere team.

When we first visited Wychmere on a site tour in June, we were met by Lyndsay McNiff who couldn’t have been nicer. We happened to have a few extra folks show up unexpectedly for our tour and Lyndsay couldn’t have been more gracious about it. She answered all of our questions knowledgeably, repeatedly, and warmly and by the time we left Wychmere that day, I knew it was exactly the spot that I wanted to get married. Lyndsay’s warmth complimented the warmth of the venue and her follow up with information, prices, menu selection and overall guidance were timely and precise. She set the tone and the bar for the service we would continue to receive from Wychmere.

As the planning got underway, Karen Rood became our next point of contact. I can honestly tell you coming from a marketing and events background, Karen is superb and one of the best I have ever had the good fortune of working with. She leaves no stone unturned and her savvy and know how made me feel as if we were in good hands from the word go. We initially had booked the Hydrangea Room but as we got closer to our wedding it became apparent that the 7 piece band we booked may prove to be too large to play in that room. My heart was set on having our reception in the Hydrangea Room and so Karen and Chris immediately went into creative and solution mode helping Scott and I come up with a layout and space for the band that would allow us to stay in that room. The end result was moving the band onto the carpet and laying down a dance floor over the carpet. When we came back to her with only 24 hours before the wedding with concerns that the 15x21 floor plan depicted in her layout plan may not be large enough, she and Chris again went to work strategizing and within a few hours the dance floor was expanded to a 24x21 with very minimal table moves. The end result of their efforts was a room flow that worked out perfectly and our guests were able to mingle and dance the night away comfortably. I was amazed by how many hours Karen logs whether on the phone or returning emails at home or on site from the early morning until very late after a wedding or function has ended. No matter what, she responded to emails or phone calls promptly and always with a smile. Karen Rood is a star and I am not sure how she is able to pull off everything so flawlessly all the while making it seem effortless. She is personable, she is quick, she is in charge, she is kind, and most of all, she makes it happen. By the end of our event Karen was more of a friend to us than our event specialist.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a few other folks who really stood out. Evvy at the Wychmere Inn was a saint keeping me calm as we waited to head down to the bridal suit as was Bruce who provided levity as we drove down in the van. Bruce even offered to return a box one of our vendors gave us but needed back. Rather than have us drive to Mashpee to return it, he graciously volunteered to do so for us as he lives in Mashpee. Again, above and beyond. No matter who we dealt with, regardless as to whether they were top brass or the gals that cleaned the rooms at the Inn – all first class, all with smiles on their faces, all good people who created an amazing experience for us and our families!

I am sure you are aware of the all star cast you have at Wychmere but I just had to write and let you know that others notice it as well. We will forever hold a special place for Wychmere and all of the amazing friends we made! We will also be sure, as will the 132 guests, to spread the word as to the wonders of Wychmere!

Greetings Nichole, Venessa, & Jay:

We had our wedding at Belle Mer on November 4th of this year and it was amazing!!! It was better than I thought the day would be. It was the wedding of my dreams truly!!!!! The venue is beyond words and I feel blessed we were able to be married there.

More importantly I just wanted you all to know how incredible your staff is. Emily and Lorena were assigned to us and I just wanted you to know how grateful we are that they were part of our day. Emily is so great at her job and it is a joy to see someone truly love what they do for a living; and she shows it!!!! I truly hope to always keep in touch with her, she is an amazing person and a huge asset to your company. I did not have a worry in the world with her in charge she gets everything done without even a second thought. Her attention to detail is a gift!

Lorena is also an asset. Her calm, collective, and wonderful personality helped me throughout the day. You may have heard she had to sew me into my dress for over an hour before the wedding because my zipper broke. If it was not for her I don't know what would of happened. She was beyond helpful all day and a true pleasure to be around. Finding employees like Lorena is a challenge ( I work in the restaurant industry as well). She just knew everything I needed or wanted before I even asked and I loved talking to her all day. Both of these women are just so wonderful in so many ways!!

The whole day was amazing! The whole staff was super! I wish I knew all their names to tell you. I just want to thank you for this day and let you know how lucky you are to have people like this. I hope to visit the venue for a party in the future!!

Dear Emily,

I wanted to thank you again for assisting Valerie and Alex with their wedding plans and making their special day turn out to be a spectacular day! Valerie had a vision in her mind when she got engaged, as I imagine most brides do, however, it was only when she found Belle Mer that they both knew the vision would work out. Of course they had to convince us.

I don't think the vision included zipper problems though. Honestly, I didn't know if that was a fixable situation. That was a tension filled hour and without Rebecca and Lorena, I don't know what would have happened

I'm sure it is Belle Mer's policy to give 100% to all clients, but you and the rest of the staff did it in a way that made us feel like the number one priority of the year! I know that Alex and Valerie were very happy with the outcome of their wedding day. Ecstatic really! My husband and I felt the same way. Our guests absolutely loved everything and noticed the outstanding job the staff did. The professionalism/friendliness of the wait staff and the presentation of the food were mentioned by many.

Belle Mer looked fabulous all decorated too! The food was great. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. So many wonderful things about that day! Except for her birth, it was the best day of our lives as her parents. I could go on and on but I'll leave it at this:

You were wonderful to work with! I cannot imagine having to deal with anyone else through out the planning of the wedding. Every time Valerie had meet with you or spoke to you on the phone or through email she was more excited about the wedding plans. I cannot even begin to count how many times I heard her say, "I spoke to Emily today. She's awesome and so easy to talk to. She get's it!" You made a world of difference in getting things "done, done & done!" I will be forever grateful to you for all the kindness you extended to my daughter and son-in-law. Dear Randy,

My daughter, Larissa and Adam Kuhnley celebrated their wedding on August 13^th at the StateRoom. WOW! We knew it was going to be a sensational wedding, but it far exceeded our expectations.

From day one, everyone at the Stateroom was friendly and very helpful. Taylor Kopocis was incredible! It was like having a built-in wedding planner. She was on top of details and helped us through a very busy and somewhat stressful time of our lives. She actually made it fun, and we felt as though she became our friend. She suggested ideas and kept us on schedule. Needless to say, our whole pre-wedding experience was delightful.

The wedding itself turned out to be a dream-come-true wedding! I was relaxed and enjoyed myself. A lot of that was due to Taylor again- she had the whole event in control and guided us through each part. My husband and I got to enjoy the evening without thinking about details, and Larissa and Adam smiled the night away. Our guests have come back to us with so many compliments. Taylor gave us the suggestions for the DJ and florist and they fit our wedding perfectly. And of course the StateRoom itself was magnificent, the food was delicious, the staff- very attentive and friendly. Everything about the wedding was magical! It was PERFECT!

I just got married at the Belle Mer Island House this past weekend and I am very satisfied in my choice to get married at Belle Mer. Here is some of my feedback:

Venue- the island house is beautiful and if you are lucky and get a gorgeous sunset like we did you will appreciate it even more! our guests were stunned by the views and how beautiful the grounds were. some people told me it was the most beautiful wedding venue they have ever been to.

Staff- Joslin is AWESOME. I have a very demanding and particular mother who I was worried would not be pleased but Joslin always made an effort to ask my mom what her needs were and executed everything with professionalism. She always has a smile on her face and she is eager to please you. She made the planning process very easy and never made me feel bad for asking too many questions. She also pays attention to the details and any small requests I had were taken care of. My only complaint is sometimes she took a few days to respond to emails however I understand it's not easy coordinating multiple events in one weekend. The rest of the staff is very professional and during your event they are all communicating with radios so if you need something you will be helped right away.

Food- As the bride I wasnt able to eat too much on the wedding day however many of my guests said the food was very good.

Overall Belle Mer is a beautiful location to get married! your photos will be stunning and your guests will be very impressed!

ps. some people are concerned about the fact that two weddings are taking place at the same time (one in the island house and one in the salon). The night of my wedding there was a wedding going on in the salon however I did not hear any noise from the wedding next door and none of my guests seemed to notice there even was another venue next door.

I wanted to say thank you for all the assistance you gave us for Kristen and Mike’s wedding. Everything was so organized and things ran so smoothly. I never saw two people enjoy their wedding more than Kristen and Mike. The absolutely loved everything.

All our guests were impressed with the Belle Mer and the staff. It was so nice to be greeted when we arrived. The ice water offered to the guests was such a nice touch. We were so happy the weather turned out to be great. Guests loved watching the boats on the water. The sunset was breathtaking and the lights on the bridge added to the Belle Mer’s beauty. We got so many beautiful pictures. The memories will last a lifetime.

Your attention to detail was unbelievable. Nothing was overlooked. Guests are still talking about how wonderful the food was. The appetizers were great, the bartenders kept things rolling. The venue was set up perfectly. The tables looked beautiful. The servers were there to fold your napkin, ask if you needed anything and were very attentive through the whole night. Everyone could not have been nicer.

The Belle Mer is a top notch place to have a wedding. We thank you for your professionalism, patience and attention to detail. The Belle Mer is very lucky to have you as an employee. We will recommend you and the Belle Mer to all our friends.

Let me echo that. You, your staff, the vendors and the facility were fabulous. LOTS of raves about the food.

Michele's arrangements were great. Really appreciated her creativity with the rustic feel, and the flexibility to produce a lower cost arrangement that still looked fantastic, as well as last-minute creativity with the favors.

Mike was amazing. I don't know how we lucked out with a 4 person crew instead of 2, but they kept both adults and more importantly, the kids, hopping. Clearly deserves his rating on the Knot.

We haven't seen the pictures yet, of course, but Cynthia was very accommodating and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

And your patience as well as helpful advice and perfect organization was HUGELY appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alden Castle or any of the vendors to anyone.

Most importantly, Philip had a great time. I really don't think I've ever seen him with a smile on his face for as many hours at a time!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and your organization for a first class production. Our friends are now referring to my daughter's wedding as the "Royal Wedding" and our guests continue to rave about the experience.

The prime mover here was Karen Rood. From start to finish she hit all of the pegs. Nothing was overlooked! Her follow-up, her recommendations and her advice were superb leading up to the wedding. Apparently she's also a part time seamstress b/c in the flash of an eye Anthony's popped off button was back on and ready to go - so amazing! How can we ever adequately thank you for making all our dreams come true? From the day we chose your venue, we knew it would be perfect. Your attention to detail and professionalism was the first key that everything would run smoothly. Never could we have imagined just how wonderful it would be.

We want to thank the entire staff for getting the Island House up and running for our event. It sparkled on the water like a gem. It was such a warm and inviting place to greet everyone. The Main Ballroom looked spectacular. I know you didn’t have any control of the weather, but wasn’t it just so beautiful when the sun started to set? The way the wait staff impeccably delivered each course was the topic of many conversations. Thank you to each and every one of you.

Chef, the food was outstanding. You really went above and beyond. Your skills were so evident. Each guest was blown away. The appetizers were plated so beautifully, the meal was delicious and the presentation of each dish was remarkable.

We just can’t thank you enough for making it the dream wedding for Katie and Nick and their families. I will most definitely recommend Belle Mer, and Longwood Events, at any opportunity I have. I hope they have at least three hours to listen.
